HC Deb 04 November 1992 vol 213 cc238-9W
Mr. Alex Carlile

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will bring forward proposals to enable judges to purchase additional years for pension purposes; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John M. Taylor

My noble and learned Friend the Lord Chancellor announced during the Report stage of the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Bill in another place that it is his intention to bring forward further amendments to that Bill in order that members of either the present judicial pension schemes, or of the new scheme, may make voluntary contributions within Revenue limits toward the cost of benefits in addition to those otherwise obtainable under those schemes.
