§ Mr. NorrisProposals for fiscal measures to stimulate investment are for the Chancellor of the Exchequer. The Department is considering with the Chamber of Shipping and within the EC what other measures might be taken to encourage the growth of the British and other European fleets. We have also been taking forward action on the recommendations of the report of the joint working party, "British Shipping: Challenges and Opportunities", which will help the general climate for investment.
