To ask the President of the Board of Trade when he will publish the inspectors' report relating to Guinness.

Mr. Neil Hamilton

The inspectors have submitted an interim report. This has not been published because of the possibility of prejudice to the criminal proceedings. The inspectors will submit their final report following the conclusion of these proceedings. Consideration of publication of that report must await its receipt.

The investigation into the affairs and membership of Guinness plc has cost £1,793,000 to date. Payments have been made to the inspectors against invoices issued from time to time.
