HL Deb 04 November 1992 vol 539 c126WA
Lord Mackay of Ardbrecknish

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When an announcement will be made on the future of testing for salmonella in eggs.

Earl Howe

Imported eggs are already subject to salmonella testing and where positive results are found, these are pursued with the exporting member state.

We have no plans to extend the present salmonella controls on the testing of poultry breeding and laying flocks to the testing of home-produced eggs.
