§ Mr. Neil HamiltonThe number of company and individual insolvencies in England and Wales in the first six months of 1992 totalled 29,204—on a seasonally adjusted basis. This represents a 12 per cent. increase over the previous six months. These figures should be considered in the context of some 3 million United Kingdom businesses in total and the large number of business start-ups and closures each year.
