§ Mr. Austin Mitchell
To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will give the number of(a) claims and (b) successful claims for unemployment benefit made by those paying the special class II national insurance contribution rate for share fishermen in the most convenient available years before and after the introduction of the weekly earnings rule.

The level of unemployment benefit, with other benefits, is kept under review. We shall be making a statement to the House in due course on the uprating of social security benefits.
