§ Mr. Lennox-BoydAll posts overseas, including those in Pakistan, are under instruction to dispatch explanatory176W appeal statements within one month of the receipt of an appeal against the refusal of a visit visa. Processing of appeal papers thereafter is a matter for the Lord Chancellor's Department. It advises that the average time between receipt by the appellate authorities of the notice of appeal and explanatory statement and the adjudicator's findings being made known to the appellant is eight months.
