HC Deb 03 November 1992 vol 213 c191W
21. Mr. William O'Brien

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what are the latest steps she has taken to ensure continuing employment for mineworkers and school leavers in mining areas; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. McLoughlin

A substantial package of employment and training measures to assist areas affected by colliery closures is set out in my right hon. Friend's letter of 19 October to the Chairman of the Employment Select Committee, a copy of which has been placed in the Library.
