§ Mr. Lennox-BoydWe support the conclusion of the United Nations Special Representatives in Angola that the legislative and presidential elections held there on 29 and 30 September were free and fair. Together with other members of the international community we condemn the recent violence in Angola and we urge UNITA to accept the result of the election and to proceed to the second round of presidential elections rendered necessary by the inconclusive result of the first round.
