§ Mr. Kenneth CarlisleDiscussions between officials of the United Kingdom Government and the European Commission were held on 7 May for the purpose of clarifying the issues raised in the Commission's article 169 letter of 17 October 1991 and the United Kingdom Government's reply of 17 December 1991. As the Commission is still considering this response I cannot comment further at the present.
