§ Mr. Charles Wardle[holding answer 20 May 1992]: Information on the ethnic origin of asylum applicants is not recorded but in the period since January 1988 the majority of Turkish applicants, and a considerable proportion of Iraqi applicants, have stated that they are Kurds.
Information on these nationalities is given in tables A and B.
