1 Provisional.
2 The 1991–92 figure includes costs for YT and credits.
3 YT figures do not include cost for community industry.
4 Figures include the associated marketing and evaluation and research costs for each programme.
5 Inclusive of VAT where appropriate.

Notes:

1. The figures relate to total expenditure on externally provided job clubs and the stall costs associated with those run by the employment service.

2. Restart courses, all of which are run by outside providers, were introduced in the 1986–87 financial year. It is not possible to identify separately the restart element of the programme prior to 1988–89. The figures for 1987–88 are the best estimate of restart course expenditure in those years.

3. Constant prices were calculated by the use of GDP deflator index from the Chancellors "Financial Statement and Budget Report" published in March 1992.
