To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give details of his response to the submission by Clwyd health authority for a new community hospital in Holywell, Clwyd; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

Clwyd health authority is currently revising its approval in principle submission to reflect more closely the requirements of the mandatory health building procedures for the NHS in Wales and, in particular, to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of the preferred option and its financial viability.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will provide details of the timetable for consideration of the Clwyd health authority submission for a new community hospital in Holywell, Clwyd.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

This is a matter for the health authority which is currently finalising its approval in principle submission.
