HC Deb 21 May 1992 vol 208 cc221-2W
Mr. Mackinlay

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what properties or services of the relevant corporations, subject to the British Coal and British Rail (Transfer Proposals) Bill, are situated or provided in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Eggar

The British Coal Corporation's statutory duties do not extend to Northern Ireland, but the corporation owns two properties and has interests in Northern Ireland in the Coal Advisory Service, the contract maintenance of solid fuel heating installations and activities associated with such installation.

I understand that British Rail has ticket offices and offices and depots related to its parcels operation, situated in Northern Ireland.
