To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what action he is taking to ensure that British Nuclear Fuels plc makes a full statement about the findings of recent monitoring of the coastline in west Cumbria; and if he will make a statement.

I have sought and received assurance from British Nuclear Fuels plc that it will continue to release full information on this matter as it becomes available. The Government's own monitoring programme confirms there is no threat to the public.
