§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the most recent estimated cost to public funds of decommissioning(a) the Magnox reprocessing plants B204 and B205, respectively, and (b) the thermal oxide reprocessing plant at Sellafield.
§ Mr. EggarResponsibility for assessing the costs of decommissioning the B204, B205 and THORP plants at Sellafield is a matter for the operator, British Nuclear Fuels plc. To the extent that Government programmes have benefited from the operation of the plants, the Government will contribute an appropriate share towards the costs of decommissioning.
