§ Dr. MawhinneyThe South Essex Health Consortium is a non-statutory body formed to co-ordinate the purchasing of health care services on behalf of Southend, Basildon and Thurrock, Brentwood and part of Barking, Havering and Brentwood district health authorities and the southern part of Essex family health services authority. It did not require the approval of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State to be established.
