§ Mr. Garel-JonesThe main subjects discussed by EC Foreign Ministers at the informal Foreign Ministers meeting in Guimares on 1 to 2 May were the situation in Yugoslavia, the evolution of the middle east peace process, preparations for the implementation of the common foreign and security policy provided for in the Maastricht treaty, the situation in South Africa and the EC's relations with Turkey. EC Ministers also agreed the solemn declaration on the protocol on the right to life of the unborn in Ireland and had a meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
