Viscount St. DavidsThe changes to the Regional Enterprise Grants Scheme that were announced on4WA 6th March 1992 by the then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry were subject to clearance from the European Commission. Now that this clearance has been received, the Minister for Industry has decided, in consultation with the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales, that from 18th May these changes will become effective and that the innovation element of the scheme will be extended to all inner city task forces areas, city challenge areas and the Scottish urban areas which already qualify for the higher level of support under the consultancy initiative.
