§ Mr. Kenneth CarlisleSince the advent of driving licences that are valid until age 70 it has become difficult to produce exact figures on licence holders. However, information from the national travel survey 1988–1990 indicates provisional motorcycle licence holders account for nearly 10 per cent. of motorcyclists. This is about the same as the 1985–86 survey although the number of motorcycle licence holders has decreased by about a third over this period.
