§ Mr. VazTo ask the President of the Board of Trade if he and his officials have had any meetings with the liquidators of BCCI in the last(a) two months and (b) one month.
Mr. HamiltonMy officials met Mr. Morris and Mr. Richards, two of the joint liquidators of BCCI, on 26 March 1992.
§ Mr. VazTo ask the President of the Board of Trade if he has received a copy of the Government of Abu Dhabi's proposal for compensation of the victims of BCCI; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. HamiltonMy officials have been supplied with a copy of the joint liquidators' report to the court dated 16 March 1992 containing a 52 page summary of the proposed agreements between the liquidators of BCCI and the Government of Abu Dhabi. I understand that the High Court is to consider these proposals on 11 May 1992 at which time all interested parties will have the opportunity to give their views. If the proposed agreements are approved by the Court acceptance of the compensation offered by the Government of Abu Dhabi will be a matter for individual creditors of BCCI.
