To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish a list of nursery school provision by local education authorities in England and Wales.

I have arranged that details of nursery provision for each local education authority in England for January 1991 will be published shortly. Details of nursery provision as at January 1990 were published last year in the DES "Statistical Bulletin 7/91", copies of which are available in the Library

Nursery provision in Wales is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales.
