§ Mr. MeacherTo ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what is the maximum charge which a general practitioner is entitled to make to provide a doctor's examination certificate for motor insurance for a patient in receipt of invalidity benefit and mobility allowance.
(2) if he will exempt claimants on disability benefits from insurance certificate charges.
§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyUnder their terms of service in the NHS, general practitioners must issue free of charge only certain specified certificates needed by patients to meet statutory requirements, such as those needed to support claims for social security benefits.
