§ Mr. NeedhamI am advised by the chief executive of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive that in the period April to December 1991, 122 families, including couples with no children, were accepted as homeless or threatened with homelessness because of mortgage difficulties. This represents 6 per cent. of all families accepted and four per cent. of all applicants accepted. In the same period eight single applicants were accepted as homeless or threatened642W with homelessness because of mortgage difficulties. This represents 1 per cent. of all single applicants accepted and 0.2 per cent. of all applicants accepted.
