§ Mr. DunnTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement on the fourth report from the Treasury and Civil Service Committee of the current Session on "Banking Supervision and BCCI" (HC 177).
§ Mr. MaplesThe Government will consider the Committee's comments and recommendations carefully. The Government will, however, await Lord Justice Bingham's report on BCCI before reaching any conclusions on the Committee's recommendations.
In response to the Committee's report, the Bank of England issued a statement yesterday, a copy of which I am placing in the Library.
