HC Deb 11 March 1992 vol 205 c534W
Mr. Quentin Davies

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he intends to make any changes to his Department's cash limits for 1991–92.

Mr. Gummer

Yes. The cash limit for Class III Vote 4 (other agricultural and food services, support for the fishing industry, arterial drainage, flood and coast protection) will be reduced by £2,000,000 from £267,044,000 to £265,044,000. Within this limit expenditure will be reduced by £1,900,000 on emergency and strategic food services reflecting a reduction in the size of the emergency food stockpile and by £100,000 on extensification to reflect a reduction in demand under these schemes.

The reduced cash limit will offset an increase in the financial ceiling for United Kingdom hill livestock compensatory allowances.
