§ Mr. BeggsTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will support and encourage the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and health boards in Northern Ireland jointly to investigate the cause of asthma and repeated chest infections in children and report on the incidence of these health problems in relation to the type of heating installed in homes.
§ Mr. HanleyI am not aware of any evidence of a causal link between asthma or other chest infections and any types of home heating and have no immediate plans to instigate such an investigation unless evidence is forthcoming.
