HC Deb 09 March 1992 vol 205 c419W
Mr. Meacher

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many home visits, excluding specialist visits, including those for the purposes of investigating suspected fraud, were made per 1,000 claimants for the latest available year; and how many were made in 1978–79 in Great Britain.

Mr. Jack

I understand from Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency, that the information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
