To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what proportion of the work force in each of the regions of Scotland live within the boundaries of development areas.

[holding answer 6 February 1992]: Information in the form requested is not available. However, information is available on the proportion of employees in employment in each of the regions of Scotland who are employed within the boundaries of development areas. This information, taken from the 1989 Employment Department census of employment, is given in the following table.
