HC Deb 02 March 1992 vol 205 c60W
Mr. Peter Bottomley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much public money supports the Thames river bus service.

Mr. Freeman

The Thames river bus service received a £500,000 grant in 1989–90 to promote and improve the service in recognition of its road decongestion and docklands regeneration benefits. Discussions are in progress about the possibility of further support on the basis of benefits to road decongestion from river transport.

The case is yet to be made.
