HC Deb 30 June 1992 vol 210 c497W
Mr. Wiggin

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for what reasons quarantine regulations are applied to animals that have been imported from United Kingdom dependencies where the British Government have responsibility and no notifiable diseases are in existence.

Mr. Soames

Rabies quarantine is applied as recommended by the Waterhouse committee of inquiry on rabies. Quarantine for other diseases depends upon the assurances which can be provided by the exporting country.
