Friend the Secretary of State remains committed to the positive measures he announced on 8 June which are intended to ease the exceptional short-term pressures on some Maxwell pension schemes and their pensioners while frozen assets are being released and progress is made in restoring and obtaining other funds. The Department keeps in close touch with trustees of Maxwell pension funds and others concerned with these pension schemes.
