§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThe National Rivers Authority is already undertaking studies to establish the extent of watercourses affected by overflows from abandoned mines throughout England and Wales. Emissions from industrial plants are monitored by the National Rivers Authority, Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution and local authorities as part of their day-to-day pollution control duties.
