§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThe total number of abortions performed in Wales and notified under the Abortion Act 1967 in the period since its implementation until the end of September 1991, which is the latest date for which information is available, was 83,015. Of these, seven were performed in emergency to save the life of the woman; this represents 0.008 per cent. of the total.
