§ Miss WiddecombePeople who are in full-time education and have previously paid national insurance contributions are entitled to claim contributory social security benefits apart from unemployment benefit. It is estimated that there are about 280,000 full-time students in England over age 21, but the number of these who have paid national insurance contributions is not known.
