It is not legally possible for staff transferred from BNFL to another company to remain in the relevant pension schemes. BNFL has made it clear that the new pension arrangements will be established following consultation with staff and trade union representatives and that the benefits of the new arrangements will be broadly equivalent to the current schemes.
