§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe methods of land tenure in all the United Kingdom's Dependent Territories with a resident population, apart from the St. Helena dependencies of Ascension Islands and Tristan da Cunha, are freehold, leasehold and Crown land. No formal system of land tenure exists in Tristan da Cunha and all land belongs to the Crown. Occupation and use of land depends on local custom and practice. Ascension Island has Crown land only.
