§ Mr. SheermanTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the current level of grants paid by the Overseas Development Administration to non-governmental organisations working on overseas development projects.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydIn 1992–93 the Overseas Development Administration has allocated £47 million to United Kingdom non-governmental organisations working on overseas development projects. Of this figure, £28 million is earmarked for the joint funding scheme, £17.8 million is allocated to the volunteer programme and £1.2 million is provided in miscellaneous grants to nongovernmental organisations. This excludes funds for disaster and refugee relief, food-aid and for projects which NGOs are implementing on our behalf.
