HC Deb 10 June 1992 vol 209 c200W
Mr. Sheerman

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the current level of grants paid by the Overseas Development Administration to non-governmental organisations working on overseas development projects.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

In 1992–93 the Overseas Development Administration has allocated £47 million to United Kingdom non-governmental organisations working on overseas development projects. Of this figure, £28 million is earmarked for the joint funding scheme, £17.8 million is allocated to the volunteer programme and £1.2 million is provided in miscellaneous grants to nongovernmental organisations. This excludes funds for disaster and refugee relief, food-aid and for projects which NGOs are implementing on our behalf.
