HC Deb 09 June 1992 vol 209 c79W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department, how much legal aid has been paid to the defendants in the Guinness trials.

Mr. John M. Taylor

To date, over £1.3 million has been paid out of legal aid towards the Crown court costs of the defence in the Guinness trials. However, not all of the expected claims for costs from legal aid or central funds have yet been received by the court and the final amount is yet to be determined.
