§ Mr. Michael ForsythMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment consults widely on European Community proposals in the employment and social field. Employers and their organisations, professional associations and other interested bodies, trades unions and specialists are consulted as appropriate. The precise list of consultees depends on the nature of the proposal in question. In matters relating to health and safety at work, the Secretary of State is advised by the Health and Safety Commission.
