§ Mr. Brazier
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what progress has been made towards contractor operation of the Atomic Weapons Establishment.

§ Mr. Aitken
An invitation to tender for the full contractor operation of AWE is being issued today to the four companies who have expressed an interest in carrying out the work. These are British Aerospace, GEC, Rolls-Royce and the Hunting-BRAE consortium.
