§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 2 June 1992]: The programming of business in the courts is a responsibility of the judicial heads of these courts and not of the Executive. Programming in the sheriff courts is at present being reviewed by groups under the chairmanship of Sheriff Principal Gordon Nicholson QC and Sheriff Graham Cox, and we await the outcome with interest.
