§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe have good relations with the three Baltic states. We are giving them practical help towards consolidating their independence: so far, we have committed over £1 million to various projects through he know-how fund. We support Baltic demands for the complete withdrawal of former Soviet forces. We have concluded agreements with Estonia and Lithuania to settle gold and other claims questions, and hope to reach final settlement with Latvia soon.
