How many people of pensionable age are not receiving the full state pension because of defects in their contribution records.

Information is not available in the precise form requested. Of the 9,407,000 basic state retirement pensions in payment at 30th September 1991, 874,000 (9.3 per cent.) were at a reduced rate as a result of deficient contribution records.
