To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the number of(a) civil service pensioners and (b) other public service pensioners who left the pension list during the years 1986 and 1987.

[holding answer 22 May 1992]: Details of the pensioners of the main centrally managed public service pension schemes who ceased to draw their pensions in the financial years 1986–87 and 1987–88 are as follows. Figures are not kept centrally for the locally administered local government, police, and fire service schemes, nor for those schemes operated by non-departmental public bodies.
