§ Mr. Lennox-BoydIn 1991–92 we gave a total of £51.5 million for humanitarian relief to Iraq, of which £824,000 was provided in grants to British and Kurdish non-governmental organisations for relief work in northern Iraq. Some of this money is still being spent. Expenditure figures for April and May 1992 are not available. In May we provided a further £600,000 towards the cost of UN guards in Iraq.
