To ask the President of the Board of Trade what steps he proposes to take to prevent frauds, criminal activities and other losses being perpetrated in the United Kingdom by trusts, companies and individuals controlled from Liechtenstein and other tax havens.

My Department is firmly committed to measures to prevent fraudulent activities. My Department works closely with regulatory authorities in the United Kingdom and overseas to protect investors against fraudulent activity by companies and individuals. I welcome the growing number of countries which, like the United Kingdom, now have powers to carry out investigations for foreign authorities.
