To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his answer of 12 May,Official Report, column 79, if he will give the starting date and the closing date for the formal consultation exercise in regard to the draft European co-operative statute.

§ Mr. Nelson
We hope to issue a combined consultative document before the end of this month on all three draft EC 'social economy' statutes, including the European co-operative statute, and their accompanying employee participation directives. Interested parties will be invited to give their comments by 28 August.
