§ Mr. EggarA total of 1.1 per cent. of the Department's workforce is registered as disabled. The Department also employs a number of people who are known to be disabled but have chosen not to register.
The Department fully accepts the responsibilities laid down by the civil service code of practice on the employment of disabled people and has taken steps to try to increase the number of disabled recruits.
