§ Mr. Robin SquireTameside is not one of the 57 urban priority authorities and was not therefore invited to submit a bid. We have considered the possibility of including Tameside's bid in the city challenge competition, but came to the view that our policy should remain unchanged. Tameside MBC was formally notified of this decision on 18 May.
